Best Places to Stay in Downtown Vancouver

There are lots of places to stay in Vancouver. If you are traveling by plane and trying not to rent a car, you'll likely want to stay somewhere close to a metro stop. Most places are accessible by bus, but I prefer to have a more direct route when I'm hauling luggage, and then take the bus when I'm out exploring. I would steer clear of the Gastown area, it's not safe right now.

This blog post covers hotels only but rentals are a great option as well! Wherever you decide to stay - reserve it in advanced! Especially if you're traveling to Vancouver during the summer, places fill up quickly! I love staying at hotels with pools, so I've added a * for hotels with a pool.

-Auberge Vancouver Hotel*, 4 stars

-Fairmont Waterfront*, 4 stars - we got a dayroom here after our cruise and enjoyed the pool and hot tub, it was really nice and you can't beat the location. Very convenient!

-Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Downtown, 3 stars (2 blocks away from Burrard station as well, good central location)

-Hyatt Regency Vancouver*, 4 stars

Yaletown-Roundhouse:

-OPUS Vancouver, 4 stars

Stadium-Chinatown:

-Skwachàys Lodge Indigenous Hotel & Gallery, only 2 stars but this place looks so cool!

-YWCA Hotel Vancouver, 2 stars but very budget-friendly

-Sandman Hotel Vancouver Downtown*, 3 stars

Vancouver City Centre:
